One of the challenges we faced as we transitioned from hybrid to fully in-person was getting into a routine for washing hands and gathering materials for lunch. This challenge was fun for students and encouraged them to be quiet and efficient, so as not to miss any directives. (In real time, this took a little over 4 minutes for a class of 31.)
This project allowed students to use their imagination and problem solving skills as they planned and built a theme park.
Positivity Project via Zoom
The focus of this Positivity Project was having Other People Mindset. After watching an inspirational video of two swimmers overcoming the obstacles of their disabilities together, we discuss the OPM we have in our day to day lives.
In the Winter 2020 semester, my practicum shifted to online in response to COVID-19. I recorded one of my favorite non-fiction stories, Crows! Strange and Wonderful by Laurence Pringle for my second graders to learn more about crows and the author.
Multiplication Song Parody
I wrote and performed this parody of Cupid's Shuffle to help 4th graders remember the steps of partitioning.
